Daphne, Ala., is the most populous city in Baldwin County because of the scenic beauty, rich history and sought-after neighborhoods and schools.

Daphne, known as the “Jubilee City” after a unique phenomenon that only occurs in 2 places in the world.

A Jubilee happens when the depletion of oxygen occurs in Mobile Bay causing fish, shrimp, crab, flounder and other fish to swim to the surface and shoreline. This only occurs in two destinations in the world, Tokyo Bay in Japan and the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay. When a Jubilee occurs an abundant amount of fish, crab and shrimp are caught with ease, as locals can literally walk the shores with a fish net, scooping up seafood!
